I am Parul Dalsukhbhai Parmar a professional para-badminton player from Gujarat (India). I have been playing Badminton since 1985 and have been awarded the most coveted Arjuna Award in 2009 by the Government of India and Eklavya Award by the Government of Gujarat in 2010 among many others. Proudly Qualified for 2020 Summer Paralympics (Being held August 2021)

ACHIEVEMENTS

• “ARJUN AWARD” the highest prestigious Sports Award given to any sports person for bringing laurel to the country in the sport at international level have been conferred to me by government of India by Her Highness the then President of India Smt. Pratibha Devisingh Patil on 29^th August 2009.
• Secured World no .1 Rank of International Badminton Association For the disabled for Seven Years (2002 to 2008)
• The Govt. of India has Awarded me “NATIONAL ROLE MODEL AWARD” in the Year 2006 awarded by Hon’ble President, Shri A.P.G. Abdul Kalam.
• I was Awarded “ Eklavya Award” in 2010 and “SPECIAL AWARD” in 2006 by Govt. of Gujarat.
• I won 29 Internationals Medal (GOLD-19, SILVER-06 & BRONZE-04)
• At National Level I Won (GOLD- 12 )

The details of Achievement at International Level are given below :

WORLD CUP/WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP

• I won Gold medal in both single and Doubles in Badminton disables World Cup 2002 which was held at Banglore (India) from 6th to 8th December 2002.
• I won Gold medal in both single and Doubles in IBAD World Badminton Championship 2007, which was held at THAILAND (BANGKOK) from 29th October to 2nd November 2007.
• I had represented India in the IWAS World Wheelchair & Amputate Games held at TAIPEI TAIWAN, CHINA from 9th to 19th September 2007.
• I Secured 1st Place in single , 3rd Place in Doubles & Mix Doubles 3rd place at BWF Para Badminton World Championship 2013 which was held at GERMANY, DORTMUND from 4th to 10th November 2013 &
• I Secured Gold Medal in Mix doubles, Silver Medal in women’s doubles at BWF Para Badminton World Champioship 2015 held at England, Stock Mundali from 8-13. Sep.2015

ASIAN GAMES

• 1st Asia Paralympic Badminton Cup 2004 which was held at Kauala Lumpur, Malaysia from 14th to 18th July 2004 [Result:Gold Medal in single & Gold Medal in Doubles.]
• 2nd Asia Paralympic Badminton Cup 2008 which was held at Karnataka, India from 9th to 15th November 2008 [Result: Gold Medal in single, Gold Medal in Doubles & Silver Medal in Mixed Doubles.]
• Asian Para Games 2010 was held at China from 12th to 19th December 2010 [Result: 3rd place in single.]
• Asian para Games 2014 was held at South Korea from 17th to 24 October 2014 [Result: First place in single and second place in mix double.]
• BWF Asian Para – Badminton Championship 2016 Beijing China from 22nd to 27th November 2016 [Result: First place in single]

INTERNATIONAL TOURNAMENTS

• 4th Open Badminton Championship for the Disabled 2004, which was held at ISRAEL (JERUSALEM) [Result: Silver in Doubles, 4th in Single.]
• 5th Open Badminton Championships for the Disabled 2005, which was held at ISRAEL(JERUSALEM) from 16th to 19th March 2005 [Result: Gold Medal in Doubles & Silver Medal in Singles.]
• 9th FESPIC Games Kualampur 2006 Malasiya from 25th November to 1st December 2006 [Silver Medal in Single.]
• 9th German Badminton Disabled International tournament-2009, which was held at GERMANY, DORTMUND from 21st to 24th May 2009. [Result: Gold Medal in Single & Bronze Medal in Doubles.]
• International RYLA -2008 was held at Chennai (India) from 20th to 21st September 2008 [Result: Gold Medal in Single & Doubles.]
• V Spanish Para Badminton international 2015 was held at Alcudia (Mallorca) Spain from 27 to 29 March 2015. [Result: Single- Gold and Mix Double-Silver]
• Second Indonesia Para Badminton international held at Solo Indonesia, 4-9 Aug.2015 [Result: Gold in Women Single.]

NATIONAL LEVEL COMPETITION

• All India Commonwealth disabled Badminton tournament 2002-2003 held at KSRJC Indoor sports complex, Banglore from 9-10 November 2003 [Result: Secured Gold in Singles & Mixed Doubles.]
• All India Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Tournament 2003-2004 held at M. Chinaswamy stadium Banglore from 6th to 7th December 2003 [Result: Gold in Singles & Mixed Doubles.]
• Metlife Inter Zone Badminton Tournament for Physical challenged – 2004 held at M. Chinaswamy stadium Banglore from 25th to 26th September 2004 [Result: Gold in Women Doubles , Singles & Mixed Doubles.]
• All India Super Six Badminton Tournament for Physical challenged -2005 held at Odisha from 24th to 26th January 2005 [Result: Gold in Singles.]
• Badminton Selection Trail FESPIC GAMES -2006 & 6th National Championship 2007 both were held at Banglore [Result: Gold Medal in Singles & Doubles.]
• 7th National Badminton Championship for challenged 2008 held at Bangalore. [Result: Gold Medal in Single.]
• I have Participated at Junior level , Sr. Level, Inter Departmental, All India Civil Services, Para Badminton National championship as a player in Single, Doubles & In team events since 1985 to till date.

STATE LEVEL AND OTHERS

I have participated in the state level Para Badminton Championship/tournaments since 1985 to till date and secured numbers of times won the Gold, Silver & Bronze Medal in Singles & Doubles also.

AS A COACH

I have completed my Diploma in sports Coaching (1 Year) in Badminton from NSNIS Banglore in the year 2012 and giving my coaching in the field of sports till now.
